Diary July Week 1

The week started with Lauren and Tig having to travel down to Gill Watson’s for Young Rider training, due to Mark and Tanya still being in the States, Tigs mum drove them down.
The training was on the Monday and due to the heat Delphi and Bud only had one dressage lesson each.

On the Tuesday there was the combined training for all the short listed Young Riders, this was held 30mins away from Gill’s.  Mark and Tanya arrived back in the UK first thing that morning and drove straight to the combined training, both sporting great suntans and sunglasses (more to hide the jetlag than keep the sun out of their eyes!).
The sun was out in force that day which made riding in top hats and tails quite unbearable, however it had to be done and both did very good tests.
After the dressage there was a trot up and general check over of the horses by Mark Lucey the team vet and then the horses had to jump two rounds of show jumping.
Despite the tiny arena both jumped very well.

With the weekend drawing closer all at Cripwell Farm were putting in last minute training in to the horses heading to Barbury Castle which was the venue for the Young Rider Final Trial and the Irish Senior Final Trial for the Worlds (lots of pressure!!).
Mark had Carl in the CIC*** and both Lauren and Tig had Bud and Delphi along with Louie and Bobby there.

All the horses put in good performances and all the hard work paid off…..Mark was selected for the Worlds and both Lauren and Tig were selected for the Europeans!!! - FANTASTIC NEWS - Not bad for a weekends work.

Lauren lost her top hat t the start of the test

She was thrilled with her test.

Bud & Tig had also did a super test in fact there was only .5 between their tests

Carl did a very good test for him, despite the XC starting up very close the the arena just before he started.
