Mark is an
International Irish event rider. He is one of Irelands most
promising and talented riders.
He has already had
many successes, winning Bronze medals at junior and young rider
levels. He has represented Ireland at senior level, competing in
the 1997 European Championships and the 1998 World Equestrian
Games.
In 1999 Mark moved to
the UK to be based with Tanya.
In 2002 he was best of the Irish at
Burghley coming 26th and was 3rd in a Grand Prix Showjumping class
at Essex.
In 2003 Mark overcome
a broken ankle in the spring to finished 17th at
Punchestown European Championships, second of the Irish, and
finished second in the Eventer Grand Prix at Hickstead Royal
International.
2004;
Mark competed in the Athens Olympics
finishing 21st followed by Burghley CCI*** finishing 15th
2005; A Busy year Mark was 21st at Badminton.
5th at Thirlestane CCI*** Scottish Champs
Then competed in the European Championships in 2005 at Blenheim finishing
29th.
2006 Mark & Drunken Disorderly won the Indoor XC Champions &
Hickstead Eventers Grand Prix
2007 Mark has both his and Tanya's horses to
compete this year so a busy time ahead!
2008; saw Mark place at many UK one day and
international events, and once again winning at the indoor XC
championships
2009; Was an exciting year for Mark, and the
horses he had produced from 'babies'
Nitetime Cavalier, Step In Time, Willow Fairgreen Attraction all
upgraded to 4* at Pau
2010; Mark & Drunken Disorderly once again won
the indoor XC championships., with & Step in Time jumped
double clear at Badminton to win Glentrool Trophy for the most
improved after DR. Then went on to represent Ireland in the Kentucky |
Tanya started
competing whilst in the Cambridge Pony Club. Representing them at
Burghley and Hickstead. Then progressing to seniors, at which level
she has already had many successes, being placed at most of the
British and many Continental International 3 day events.
Tanya was long listed
for the Sydney Olympics with Drunken Disorderly.
Tanya was off the road
in 2002 with a badly broken arm following 2 operations she
returned to riding.
In 2003 Tanya returned
to competition riding having given the ride to Mark on Drunken
Disorderly to Mark whilst she was off injured, Tanya concentrated
on the young horses successfully competed at 1 & 2 Star Horse
Trails and top level Show Jumping.
Best Result: Winning
the prestigious Le Lion D'Angers 2* 3 Day Event in France.
In
2005 Tanya had another nasty fall breaking her fibula & Tibia along
with cracking her pelvis it was 7 months before she was back in the
saddle.
In
2006 Tanya was back competing, producing some very nice youngsters.
2007 Tanya had a wonderful baby girl, Tabitha
2008 Tanya had a quiet season with a few youngsters to compete
2009 Tanya had another good season with the young horses.
2010 Tanya had a very busy season with the young horses qualifying 3
for the Burghley Young Event horse Class
. The young horses all moved up to Novice
towards the end of the season with The Cult completing 2 CIC**
