No time to rest after back to back 3 days, in fact there were a lot of horses to ride...
Kate who has been with us for 3 years and head girl for the last year left this week, so it was all change.
Tig collected her new horse on Monday, he is a 6 year old bay gelding called Imperial Flight. It is always very exciting getting new horses, and fun to play with them.
The horses we bought in Ireland during
Punchestown, arrived in the UK before we did last week, we had a quick ride on
them before we left for Tweseldown, this week we had more time to play with them
and see what they could do.
They all seem to have settled in very well, and are all we hoped they would be.
We took 2 XC schooling, both were super, Nordic has a great attitude for a 'baby' and Mousie should make a cracking FEI pony.

With no time to think better of it we were at Prestwold HT on Tuesday. Only
10 minutes from home it was a very civilised start to the day, even with 8.30
dressage.
Prestwold did very well to run, nearly every other event in the country
cancelling due to the wet weather.
Mark was riding Bear (Dark Justice) a 16.2hh 5 year old Irish horse by Cavalier, this was his first event. He did a good dressage, followed by a very nice double clear.

Lauren managed to get a late entry in the Intro with Halo
(Halo Bay) a mare her
mother sent over from the States to sell. |

Tanya rode Twinkle (Portduff Twinkling) at her first event in the Intro section gaining a
double clear. |
Whilst at Prestwold Mark putting a shoe back on Bear, tried to slice his finger off with a nail, resulting in evening visit to the hospital for 5 stitches!
Mark had his work cut out this week with getting his 6 horses
into a work frame of mind after an easy 2 weeks in time for Little Downham on
Saturday.
As it turned out they went super, the only one to come home with out a rosette
was Tiger (Personal Impact) and this was because he got time penalties for going
to quick on the XC!!
It was a busy week, no time to rest on Sunday, we were off to
Burley Show. This is a very popular local agricultural show, with lots going on.
On the equestrian side a very wide selection of showing classes, and show
jumping, and a Young event horse class.
These classes run along side the cattle, sheep, goats rabbits..... the beautiful
weather made it a fun day out.
Mark & Tanya had Bear and Twinkle in the 5 year old class, whilst Tanya ride a 4 year old for her Toni (her sister) the horses all went very well, but did not make the rosettes.
