Coolio arrived on Wednesday and trotted up beautifully. All of Amy's hard work this season paid off as he looked immaculate.
Thursday dressage was again a dreary day but the weather suited Coolio. He did a lovely test for a 52. Unfortunately the weather meant for mud, which meant for a muddy horse. Poor Amy was so frustrated that all her efforts to keep Coolio white were thwarted.
Friday was a quiet day in our camp which allowed for plenty of time to evaluate the cross country and prepare for Saturday.
Saturday came and went quickly. Coolio warmed up well and was skipping around the tough course with ease until he had an unfortunate fall at fence 18. The cross country course was very tough but fair; however, the week's rain definitely had an effect on the ground, making the going very tough for the horses. The good news is Mark and Coolio are both fine and are fit and sound for another day.
We packed up early on Sunday and made it back to the yard just in time to watch the exciting finale on Sunday on TV.
While we didn't have the weekend we hoped for and planned on, we did come away with a sound and fit horse and will be back in action in no time!
