Diary November

Apologies for the diary being so late life has been pretty hectic, so much for having a rest once the event season finished!
Anyway here is a Précis of November.

We started hunting with the Quorn this month. The Farm is in Quorn 'Monday Country' so we have subscribed to hunt on Mondays, and Fridays which we are told are the best days.
Neither of us had hunted properly in about 15 years so it was a case of finding the old hunting jackets dusting them off and making sure they fit.

Mark & Tanya out with the Quorn.

Monday hunting is generally within hacking distance or a short box ride.

The hunt will come over the farm every 6 weeks or so, in preparation Mark has been busy building some jumps and cutting down hedges to make them jumpable.
I am not sure they are British Eventing Spec. but they are fun to jump!

A day trip to Ireland to look at horses  resulted in 6 new horses arriving at the farm before we did, as we went straight from Ireland for a quick trip to the States.

Four days teaching in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and one in Utah. Whilst we were there the snow started it certainly made us feel like winter was here and left us hankering after some skiing.
As always it was great to see everyone but it was a busy trip and we came up quite shattered.

With the Quorn Hunt Ball on the 25th Conner a friend of ours came up on the Friday for a days hunting, he normally hunts in Ireland with the Limerick over ditches and banks so a day over hedges and rails was a treat.

The ball was great fun a definite for next year!

Booli a new student from the States spent November with us. We enjoyed her  company, she must have had fun because she has bought one of the new horses and is coming back at the end of Jan for a year!

Excellent news for the yard was we started work on and finished the Lunging circle and Indoor school. Pictures next month.
