TESTIMONIALS
We asked for a few testimonials from some of the riders who have been based here at Queenholme, at some point during their careers. We incredibly proud of all of our horses and riders past and present, and keenly follow their progress.
Yu Xuan Su- Eventing" I’ve been based at Queenholme Equestrian since 2017, and over the last three years, they have played a massive role in my eventing journey so far.
Mark and Tanya’s coaching, along with all the help and support from Amy and Kirsty, have been integral to my development as a rider. They have taken me from riding in my first BE100 to competing sucessfully at CCI3*, and winning multiple medals for Team Hong Kong at the Asian Championships and Asian Games; their top-quality management of the horses have also allowed me to study at university whilst pursuing an eventing career. I always felt welcome as part of the Queenholme team, and everyone has been extremely supportive in my successes, as well as lifting me up in my tougher times in the sport. Mark and Tanya’s vast knowledge in teaching, and their attention to every individual horse, are what sets them apart from anyone else." |
Kirsty Short- Eventing" Queenholme Equestrian has always been a big support to me in my eventing journey. I first met Mark and Tanya in 2007 after purchasing my first young horse- Cossan Lad, who would go on to take me around some of the biggest tracks in the world, including Pau, Badminton, Burghley and Luhmühlen CCI5*L.
During 2009-2010 I was thrilled to be offered a place at Queenholme as a working student. I began learning my trade and buying another young horse from the Kyle's whom we produced to CCI3*S and sold to Germany. I was fortunate enough to return in 2017 to be based there with three horses, whilst I was finishing university in Nottingham. Their wealth and experience in producing riders is second to none; they know exactly how to get you the results you once could only dream of. In have had some of my best and most successful seasons to date whilst under their guidance. Whether it be completing my first internationals or jumping around Badminton and Burghley in the same year. There would not be many establishments that could achieve that. Thank you Mark, Tanya and all the team at Queenholme Equestrian." |
Helen Bates- Eventing"I started at Queenholme as a working student at the age of 17 with two horses as after wanting to find out more about how a professional eventing yard works behind the scenes; I enjoyed it so much I ended up staying for 6 years!
Mark and Tanya are both hugely talented riders and trainers, but what drew me to Queenholme initially was their ability to select and produce top class young event horses, having both competed at Le Lion World Breeding Championships on numerous occasions on self produced horses. I also learnt about how a busy, professional yard works behind the scenes, and about the management and care of top class horses. I now have a small string of event horses, ranging from 3yo to CCI3* all of whom I have produced myself, and in 2019 represented Great Britain on the CCI3* European Cup Team in Germany on a horse I bought and produced under Mark and Tanya's guidance. I owe a lot of my knowledge and success to date to Mark, Tanya, and the team headed by Amy and Kirsty, and am incredibly grateful for my time there. I know for a fact I wouldn't be where I am today without them and Queenholme. |
Elsi Jacques- Show-Jumping"I came to Queenholme in 2015 at the age of 10. Since then I have received intensive training from Mark and Tanya and I am now jumping up to 1.30m tracks with 3 horses and compete at the top level on 3 ponies.
Since training with Mark and Tanya I have achieved a number of successes and have competed at major, high-profile shows such as HOYS, Bolesworth International, Liverpool International and Senotwer Park in Belgium. I am also incredibly grateful for the integral support of Amy, Kirsty and the rest of the team at Queenholme who make it all happen seamlessly behind the scenes." |
